Lisa Spirling will take over the post from August 2016
Theatre503 have announced that Lisa Spirling will take over as artistic director from August 2016.
Spirling takes over the post from Paul Robinson who steps down to lead the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough. Spirling is currently artistic coordinator of the JMK Trust's Regional Directors
Program and was previously programming director at Theatre503. Her directing credits include Jumpy (Theatr Clwyd), I Know How I Feel About Eve (Hampstead Theatre) and Hello/Goodbye (Singapore Rep Theatre).
Spirling commented: "I am over the moon to be joining Theatre503 as their next artistic director. This extraordinary theatre, with its focus on emerging voices and the best in new writing played a vital role in my own theatrical journey and I cannot wait to be a part of its future. I identify wholeheartedly with Theatre503's commitment to inclusion, creativity and excellence and hope to build on all that Paul and his brilliant team have achieved."
Outgoing artistic director Robinson added: "I am absolutely delighted that Lisa Spirling has been appointed as my successor. She brings bundles of experience, passion and vision to the role and working with such an incredible team the future of Theatre503 couldn’t be brighter."
