Award-winning performer James Hameed has joined the line-up for RepresentAsian: An Evening of Asian Talent, which takes place next month.

Hameed, who was the first person to provide the voice and remote puppetry for Paddington Bear in Paddington The Musical at the Savoy Theatre, will appear at the concert hosted by EastEnders actor Nina Wadia. The event celebrates Asian performers working in musical theatre and raises funds for a scholarship at the Boury Academy.

The line-up also includes Nadim Naaman, Roshani Abbey, Soophia Foroughi, Hiba Elchikhe, Zheng Xi Yong and Mia Kobayashi.

Guildford School of Acting and Royal Academy of Music graduates Charlie Moscrop, Sameer Dhanjee and Shivaane Subash will also perform, making their West End concert debuts.

The concert follows last year’s event, which funded the first RepresentAsian Scholarship to support a young performer accessing professional arts training.

RepresentAsian: An Evening of Asian Talent is produced by Aixa Amarante Productions in partnership with Dishoom. Audience members will receive complimentary chai on arrival.

Hameed said: “This is something that has been really close to my heart for a long time now, and I’ve always wanted to be a part of this group. It is going to be one of the biggest nights yet, celebrating the best of Asian talent in the West End and doing some amazing fundraising at the same time. I’m really looking forward to it!”

The concert takes place at the Lyric Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue on Monday 9 November 2026 at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced from £20.

The creative team includes founder and casting director Ben Armstrong, producer Aixa Amarante Productions, graphic designer Tom Mann for Ghostlight Productions and head of brands and partnerships Alex Kais for House of Kais.
