The Worst Witch stage show to run in the West End
Royal and Derngate's production of The Worst Witch will run at the Vaudeville Theatre this July, following its world premiere last autumn in Northampton.
The piece follows the accident-prone Mildred Hubble, who lives in a school for witches and leaves a trail of mayhem in her wake.
Directed by Theresa Heskins (The Snow Queen), the show is based on Jill Murphy's classic series of books and is adapted for the stage by Emma Reeves. It is designed by Simon Daw (Humble Boy), with music by Luke Potter (Hetty Feather) with aerial consultancy by Vicki Amedume.
Beverley Norris-Edmunds choreographs, illusions are by John Bulleid, lighting design is by Aideen Malone and sound design is by Leigh Davies, puppetry direction and design is by Paschale Straiton and casting is by Anjo Carroll.
Murphy's series of eight books was first published in 1974, and has been adapted for TV many times throughout the decades.
The stage production of The Worst Witch runs in the West End from 24 July to 8 September, with casting to be announced.
