Su Pollard has withdrawn from a production of Side By Side By Sondheim that is due to open at the Brockley Jack Studio next week.

Pollard, who withdrew due to a "sudden indisposition", will be replaced by Sarah Redmond, who previously starred in a production of Side By Side By Sondheim in Singapore.

Producer Thomas Attwood said: "Su Pollard was a delight to work with and brought an infectious energy into the rehearsal room. I'm very sorry that we cannot share this hard work with our audiences and wish her well.

"I am absolutely thrilled to welcome Sarah Redmond into our little company. Sarah's huge experience as a performer and director in the West End makes her a wonderful addition to the 40th anniversary production."

The production, which runs from 8 to 26 September, will be narrated by one of the show's original creators, Stuart Pedlar, who is also the production's musical director.

The cast also includes Marianne Benedict and Grant McConvey.
