Show Boat opening night

Daniel Evans' production of Show Boat opened in the West End last night after it transferred from Sheffield Theatres.

Celebrities including Ian McKellen, Ruby Wax, Bryan Adams and Andrew Lloyd Webber turned out to support the cast. Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II's 1927 musical follows the lives and loves of the performers and workers on a river show boat on the Mississippi river.

The show has opened to excellent reviews all round, including a five star rave from our critic Sarah Crompton.

Show Boat runs at the New London Theatre until 7 Jan 2017.
