Shakespeare’s Globe announces full cast for ”A Midsummer Night’s Dream”

Shakespeare’s Globe has unveiled casting for its new production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

As already announced, artistic director Michelle Terry will take on the role of Puck in the production.

Also set to appear are Sam Crerar as Lysander, Sarah Finigan as Egeus / Snug, Mariah Gale as Bottom, Vinnie Heaven as Demetrius, Jack Laskey as Oberon / Theseus, Molly Logan as Flute / Fairy, Francesca Mills as Hermia, Anne Odeke as Hippolyta, Marianne Oldham as Titania, Rebecca Root as Quince, Michelle Terry as Puck, Isobel Thom as Helena, and Tanika Yearwood as Snout / Mustardseed.

The creative team for the production includes Elle While as the director, while Indiana Lown-Collins is the associate director. James Maloney is the composer, Sabia Smith oversees costumes, Wills is the set designer, and takis is in charge of costumes. Glynn Macdonald is the Globe Associate for movement, and Annie-Lunnette Deakin-Foster serves as the movement director. Tess Dignan is the head of voice, and Becky Paris is in charge of casting.

While said today: “I’m thrilled to bring together these brilliantly talented actors on the Globe stage for A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This is a play of magic, of big betrayals, of deep passions and of true friendships. I can’t wait for audiences to join us in the Globe for the warm summer months ahead to enjoy this play anew in our magnificent wooden ‘O’.”

The show opens the Globe’s summer season, which was unveiled at the start of the year.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream begins performances on 27 April.
