It’ll take place in Dublin
West End favourites Rob Houchen and Anna Jane Casey will lead a concert of Sweeney Todd.
The much-loved Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler musical, which follows a tormented barber set on revenge, will be presented in Dublin’s National Concert Hall.
Houchen plays the titular role, with Casey as his Mrs Lovett. They’ll be joined by the National Symphony Orchestra, Dublin, with Anthony Gabriele conducting the 66-piece orchestra.
The rest of the company is made up of young Irish actors in training and recent graduates. They include Rachel Reid (Johanna), Andy Armitage (Anthony), John Cathcart (Tobias), Meg Kathleen Hardy (Beggar Woman), Issac Casey (Beadle), Eoin Daly (Judge) and Ciarán McKenna (Pirelli) along with a featured ensemble and chorus run in partnership with Irish Youth Musical Theatre and the Royal Irish Academy of Music.
Séimí Campbell directs Sweeney Todd, with music supervision by Tony Award-winning Sarah Travis, movement direction by Olivier Award-winning James Cousins, and lighting design by Lee Curran.
The concert will take place for one night only on 25 July 2025.
