Reece Shearsmith is among the cast of the forthcoming ''Grease 2 in Concert' at the Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue on 27 January 2014.

League of Gentlemen star Shearsmith, whose theatre credits include Betty Blue Eyes and The Producers, will play biology teacher Mr Stuart in the screen-to-stage show, which has announced a second performance at 11pm.

According to press material, "Celebrating the infamous styles, moves and wheels of the greatest high school of all time, Cool Rider [the show's official title] will pay homage to the film's sheer brilliance (and shortcomings) with many surprises along the way."

The 1982 film takes place two years after the original film at Rydell High School, and features a new cast of characters. Songs include "Who’s That Guy?", "Score Tonight", "Cool Rider" – which will be sung in the concert "precariously atop a step ladder" – "Girl for all Seasons" and "Rock-a-Hula Luau (Summer Is Coming)".

Further casting is still to be announced.
