The Ustinov Studio in Bath has announced a series of UK premieres for American shows as part of its newest season.

The venue's artistic director Laurence Boswell will direct the national premiere of Pulitzer Prize-winner Donald Margulies' black comedy The Model Apartment. Running from 22 November to 22 December, the piece will star Diana Quick (Phedra Brittanica), Ian Gelder (Game of Thrones), Emily Bruni (Lunch / Bow of Ulysses) and Enyi Okoronkwo (Junkyard). Set in the 1980s, the piece follows two elderly Holocaust survivors as they aim to retire to Florida.

From 7 February to 9 March, Eleanor Rhode (Boudica) will direct Tanya Barfield's Blue Door. The piece follows Lewis, an African-American mathematician who suffers from severe insomnia and converses with three generations of his ancestors. The show will star Ray Fearon (Macbeth) and Fehinti Balogun (Against).

A third show as part of the season will be announced soon.

The venue recently announced that its production of Switzerland would transfer to the West End Ambassadors Theatre, while its production of Agnes Colander, directed by Trevor Nunn, would transfer to the Jermyn Street Theatre in London.
