The all-female Shakespeare trilogy at King’s Cross officially opened with a full day marathon of performances
Singer Joan Armatrading was among the guests celebrating the opening of the Donmar's all-female Shakespeare trilogy at King's Cross this week.
Performed in a new purpose built theatre behind King's Cross station, the trilogy comprises Julius Caesar (which was first seen in this form at the Donmar in 2012), Henry IV (seen at the Donmar in 2014) and a new production of The Tempest. All productions are directed by Phyllida Lloyd and feature the same acting company led by Harriet Walter.
The plays are performed in repertory with a number of Trilogy Days where all three plays are performed back to back. After the London season The Tempest will play a short run at the St Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn, New York.
The Shakespeare Trilogy is playing at the Donmar at King's Cross until 17 December 2017
