Phoebe Fox, Cherrelle Skeete and more to appear in My White Best Friend at Bunker Theatre

The full line-up of performers has been announced for My White Best Friend, a new project by Rachel De-Lahay and Milli Bhatia at the Bunker Theatre.

De-Lahay and Bhatia's project sees eleven writers (Zia Ahmed, Travis Alabanza, Fatimah Ashgar, Nathan Bryon, Matilda Ibini, Jammz, Iman Qureshi, Anya Reiss, Nina Segal and Tolani Shoneye) write letters tackling contemporary issues including racial tensions, microaggressions and emotional labour.

The letters will then be read live on stage, unrehearsed, by a variety of performers across the week from Monday 18 March to Saturday 23 March.

Taking to the stage for the blind read will be Phoebe Fox (A View from the Bridge), Ben Bailey Smith (also known as comedian Doc Brown), Cherrelle Skeete (Fun Home), Danny Lee Wynter (The Maids), Nick Holder (The Threepenny Opera), George MacKay (Pride), Bunker Theatre's artistic director Chris Sonnex, Shvorne Marks (A Profoundly Affectionate…), Ria Zmitrowicz (Three Girls), Inès de Clercq (Broadchurch), Rosie Day (Watership Down), Tom Moutchi (Famalam) and Zainab Hasan (Tamburlaine).

After every performance there will be a DJ set in the Bunker's space with audiences invited to remain.

De-Lahay said: "What we have now is a collection of brave and fearless essays of all the things most people tend to shy away from thinking let alone saying. And we're going to shoot them out into the ether – for one night only – our very own Snapchat or Insta Story of theatre."
