West London’s fringe theatre will stage London, UK and world premieres between March and May
The Finborough Theatre's new season will open with the London premiere of Alexandra Wood's play Merit, running from 1-26 March.
The play is set in Spain in 2013 and tells the tale of young graduate Sofia, who is PA to one of the wealthiest bankers in the country.
The piece runs alongside the world premiere of African-American playwright Aurin Squire, whose Don't Smoke in Bed will run on Sunday, Monday and Tuesdays from 6-22 March.
Phil Willmott's new musical Princess Caraboo will get its world premiere production from 30 March to 22 April at the theatre. Originally staged as part of Vibrant play reading festival, the play relays the true story of a woman who pretended to be a shipwrecked princess in the 18th century.
The theatre will also stage the first UK production in more than 40 years of The Non-Stop Connolly Show (4-18 April) to mark Dublin's Easter Rising.
To end the season, new play Schism by Athena Stevens will run between 27 April and 14 May. Schism is about an encounter between a failed architect and a woman with cerebral palsy.
