MJ the Musical to embark on tour

MJ will embark on a major UK tour in 2027 after completing its run in the West End.

The UK tour will take the production to cities across the country, with full dates and venues to be announced soon.

Alongside the UK tour, the show’s first international Asian tour will launch in October 2026 and travel to major cities in Asia for an initial two-year run, with further details to follow in the coming months.

The musical, which features more than 25 Michael Jackson hits, won the WhatsOnStage and Olivier Awards for Best Choreography and was nominated for Best New Musical at both ceremonies.

MJ is written by Lynn Nottage and directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon. Scenic design is by Derek McLane, lighting design by Natasha Katz, costume design by Paul Tazewell, sound design by Gareth Owen, projection design by Peter Nigrini and wig and hair design by Charles G. LaPointe.

Musical supervision is by David Holcenberg, with orchestrations and arrangements by David Holcenberg and Jason Michael Webb.
