The production is due to open next autumn
Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein is set to open in the West End next autumn.
Based on the Oscar nominated 1974 film, which starred Gene Wilder, the story sees esteemed brain surgeon and professor Frederick Frankenstein inherit his grandfather's castle in Transylvania. He must decide whether to continue to run from his family’s tortured past or continue his grandfather's experiments in Transylvania.
Brooks will team up with co-writer Thomas Meehan and choreographer Susan Stroman when the musical opens at the Newcastle Theatre Royal on 26 August. It will close on 9 September before moving into the West End.
Young Frankenstein will be produced by Brooks, Michael Harrison, Fiery Angel and Hani Farsi.
