Yes, we know Trevor Dion Nicholas is currently our Genie extraordinaire in Aladdin and Vikki has been hilarious two years running as the Lyric Hammersmith's pantomime baddie, but what really makes our excellent hosts tick?

As the 18th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards are fast approaching, we thought we'd get a few in-depth insights in order to get to know them a little better.

The 18th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards take place on Sunday 25 February this year and you can tune in to the red carpet live on Facebook from 6.15pm on the day of the awards.

Vikki Stone

If you were an animal, what animal would you be?
My dog Bert.

What's your favourite musical?
It’s Hamilton, and I’m distraught that I’m not in it. I’m going to use this article to once again persuade Cameron Mackintosh to audition me for King George.

Yes, I know I’m a woman, and it’s a man’s part, but it’s 2018.

What are you most looking forward to at the WhatsOnStage Awards?
I should say "celebrating the best of British theatre" but the real answer is the bar.

Has anyone given you any hosting tips?
"Just get on with it". I shan’t say who said that, but it’s good advice.

Who would be your five ideal dinner party guests? (Can be alive or dead)
Alive or Dead? Hmmm… I’d say dead, as they’d be less fussy.

If you were an animal, what animal would you be?

I would definitely be a panda! I’ve always been a big fan of them and, although I’m not sure of the effect that a dramatic increase in bamboo would have on my digestive system, I’m all about that panda life.

What's your favourite musical (that you're not currently in)?
My absolute favourite musical of all time is Little Shop of Horrors. It’s the perfect blend of comedy, sci-fi, deep grounded human struggle and drama with a rocking score. Everything I could want in one place!

What are you most looking forward to at the WhatsOnStage Awards?
The audience! This is the place where the people's voices are heard loud and clear, this is a celebration of them as much as it is of the work that all the nominated parties have put in. Without the love they send our way we wouldn’t be present for such an incredible evening.

Has anyone given you any hosting tips?
I’ve been lucky to have a great group of knowledgeable people around me to hand down helpful and succinct advice for ascending to great heights in my hosting position; "Don’t screw this up".

Who would be your five ideal dinner party guests? (Can be alive or dead)
In no particular order: David Bowie, Prince, Chuck Palahniuk, August Wilson, and Ben Vereen.
