We went to the launch of The Boys in the Band to chat to some of the cast about the upcoming production.

Mart Crowley's play is set in a New York apartment where a birthday party takes place and a surprise birthday gift – in the shape of a male hustler, arrives. The piece premiered in 1968 in New York and was adapted into a film of the same name in 1970.

Directed by Adam Penford, the production has a cast including Mark Gatiss, Ian Hallard and Daniel Boys who spoke to us about their views on the piece.

The Boys in the Band runs at the Park Theatre from 4 to 30 October, with previews from 28 September. The show then tours to The Lowry on 3 November, Theatre Royal, Brighton on 8 November and West Yorkshire Playhouse on 14 November.
