Comer picked up the Best Performer in a Play Award for her turn in Prima Facie, the blistering solo show examining on the inadequacies of our legal justice system. First seen last spring in the West End, the show is set to run on Broadway from April.
But after that, it seems that Comer’s experiences with the stage are far from over, as she revealed to us exclusively.
“I really want to do a musical,” she explained in the video below. “I’ve been saying this for ten years! But which musical, well, I really don’t know, but I really, really want to do one.
“Our Prima Facie producer James Bierman is the most exquisite producer so I’m going to keep him close by and maybe get him to conjure something up.”
The WOS team then maybe suggested Comer team up with SELF ESTEEM, who created the musical for Prima Facie, in order to write something new. Comer seemed keen: “I’ll work on that tonight! She’s remarkable – Rebecca is so incredible and when we first started using the musical in rehearsal, it just felt unique and fearless.”
In the meantime, Bierman is cooking up his next production in the West End – a new staging of The Pillowman with Lily Allen and Steve Pemberton.
