The Watermill is presenting Jez Butterworth’s classic play
Photos have been released offering a first look at the Watermill's production of Jerusalem, which opens in Newbury this week.
Directed by Lisa Blair, the show stars Jasper Britton as Johnny "Rooster" Byron, a local caravan-dwelling vagabond who is on the verge of eviction.
Jez Butterworth's play first debuted at the Royal Court in 2009, running in the West End twice in 2010 and 2011 and was also performed on Broadway. Mark Rylance won Tony and Olivier Awards for his turn as Byron in the original production.
The revival also stars Peter Caulfield, Nenda Neurer and Adam Burton and runs in Newbury until 21 July. The Watermill production has design by Frankie Bradshaw, lighting by Christopher Nairne, and sound and musical direction by Tom Attwood.
