It will play at Soho Theatre

Hole! will transfer to London ahead of returning to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Jake Brasch and Nadja Leonhard-Hooper’s production is currently playing at the Public Theater in New York, and made its UK debut last year in Edinburgh, where it was nominated for a Popcorn Writing Award.
The two-hander is written and performed by the pair (who form American Sing-Song, otherwise known as A.S.S), and is described as “The Book of Mormon meets The Mighty Boosh”. It follows a strict religious sect in Nebraska who, after an apocalyptic event known as ‘The Great Sucking,’ are the only humans left on earth. An album is available to stream.
RJ Tolan directs, while set design is by Emmie Finckel, lighting design by Paige Seber, sound design by Eamon Goodman, costume design by Hahnji Jang, and movement by acclaimed Fringe First Award-winning clowns Xhloe and Natasha. Hole! is produced by Benjamin Nelson and David Thomas Tao alongside UK executive producers Indigo Productions.
The musical will play at Soho Theatre’s main space from 17 July to 1 August, before returning to Edinburgh and playing at Underbelly Cowbarn from 5 August to 31 August. A full American premiere will take place at Playwrights Horizons next season.
Producers Nelson and Tao said, “Jake Brasch and Nadja Leonhard-Hooper are two of the most deranged genius playwrights working today. As American Sing-Song, they’re an unstoppable force of joy and lunacy in a world that sorely needs it. It’s an honour to help bring their vision to the stage. We strongly encourage audiences to show up curious and receptive.”
UK executive producers James Lane and Ed McGovern added on behalf of Indigo Productions: “We have seldom seen such a response to a show as the one Hole! received last year. It is completely singular and the intrigue building around this show will be of no surprise to those lucky enough to have caught it so far.”
