Hayley Atwell, Jess Phillips and more to appear in talks around Good Girl at Trafalgar Studios

Hayley Atwell, Jess Phillips, Sarah Perry and more will appear in a series of talks around the production of Good Girl at Trafalgar Studios.

Atwell will be a guest on a panel alongside Harini Iyengar (barrister and spokesperson for Women's Equality Party) and Amita Sehgal (a couples psychotherapist) for a talk entitled Emotion and Sex on 13 March. The panel will explore the influence of nature and nurture on the emotional side of sex.

Elsewhere in the series Jess Phillips MP will appear on 20 March with actor Sam Swann to interrogate the subject of emotion and politics and whether the two should be mutually exclusive.

On 27 March the third talk will be called Emotion and Identity where Sarah Perry (author), Bella Heesom (writer and performer), Rebecca Crookshank (writer and performer) and Chris Bush (writer and lyricist) will appear together. They will consider how conventional gender roles continue to shape how we present ourselves, particularly when it comes to expressing emotion.

Panel discussions will take place immediately following the productions on on those dates and are open to ticket holders on these dates at no extra charge.

The series of events have been programmed around the run of Good Girl, Naomi Sheldon's debut play which opens at the Vault Festival from 28 February to 4 March before transferring to Trafalgar Studios 2 from 5 March. The piece, a darkly comic coming of age tale, is performed by Sheldon and tells of a good girl who finds herself in a bad situation. The show ran at the Edinburgh Fringe and then at the Old Red Lion in late 2017.

Good Girl runs at Vault Festival from 28 February to 4 March before transferring to Trafalgar Studios from 5 to 31 March.
