The award-winning play opens at the Birmingham Rep in September
Full casting has been announced for the Olivier Award-winning play, King Charles III which opens at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre next month ahead of a national tour.
Joining the previously announced Robert Powell will be Penelope Beaumont (Much Ado About Nothing), Jennifer Bryden (The 39 Steps), Richard Glaves (Oh What a Lovely War!), Dominic Jephcott (Scenes from a Marriage), Lucy Phelps (Earthquakes ), Ben Righton (Game), Giles Taylor (Wolf Hall), Parth Thakerar (The Hard Problem), Tim Treloar (Macbeth), Beatrice Walker (Duchess of Malfi) and Paul Westwood (Three Men in a Boat).
Mike Bartlett's play, which premiered at the Almeida Theatre before transferring to the West End, is a 'future history' imagining the accession to the throne of Prince Charles.
Directed by the Almeida Theatre’s artistic director Rupert Goold with Whitney Mosery, King Charles III is designed by Tom Scutt, with music composed by Jocelyn Pook, lighting by Jon Clark and sound by Paul Arditti.
The production will also open on Broadway this October at the Music Box Theatre, with Tim Pigott-Smith reprising the role of Charles.
