The Almeida Theatre has announced full casting for artistic director Rupert Goold's production of Medea, which concludes the Greeks season.

Alongside Kate Fleetwood, who makes her Almeida debut in the title role, the cast will include: Michele Austin, Guillarmo Bedward, Sarah Belcher, Amanda Boxer, Richard Cant, Ruth Everett, Georgina Lamb, Emily Mytton, Charlotte Randle, Lukas Rolfe, Justin Salinger, Louis Sayers, Sam Smith, Xavier Moras Spencer, Andy de la Tour and Joseph West.

Designed by Ian MacNeil, with choreography by Scott Ambler, costume by Holly Waddington and sound by Adam Cork, the production runs from 25 September to 14 November 2015.

Euripides' tragedy centres on the bloody fall-out of the break up of Medea's marriage to Jason. The Almeida production uses a new version of the play by award-winning novelist Rachel Cusk.

According to press material: "Testing the limits of revenge and liberty, Euripides' seminal play cuts to the heart of gender politics and asks what it means to be a woman and a wife."
