Joseph Alessi and Joanna Kirkland star in the musical about an accountant replaced by a machine
Full casting has been announced for the UK premiere of Adding Machine: A Musical which opens at Finborough Theatre in late September.
The musical will star Joseph Alessi (Monster Raving Loony, Soho Theatre) as Mr Zero, Kate Milner-Evans (The Phantom of the Opera) as Mrs Zero, Joanna Kirkland (Parade) as Daisy Dorothea Devore and Edd Campbell Bird (Les Miserables) as Shrdlu.
Directed by Josh Seymour, the musical is based on the 1923 play The Adding Machine by Elmer Rice, which tells the story of an accountant who is livid after being replaced by a machine after 25 years of service. It has music composed by Joshua Schmidt, with libretto by Jason Loewith and Schmidt.
The cast also includes James Dinsmore (Corbyn the Musical), Helen Walsh (Les Misérables), George Rae (Grand Hotel), and Sue Appleby (The Animals and Children Took to the Streets).
Adding Machine: A Musical runs at Finborough Theatre from 30 September, with previews from 28 September.
