Forbidden Broadway returns to Menier this summer

The comedy revue will run for a limited season at the Chocolate Factory from 19 June to 16 August

Musical comedy revue Forbidden Broadway will return to the Menier Chocolate Factory this summer, with a limited run from 19 June to 16 August 2014.

The show, which has been updated for the new run, is directed by the Broadway director Philip George and Gerard Alessandrini, the original creator.

Forbidden Broadway is a spoof revue, sending up some of the biggest shows across Broadway and the West End. The new version will include parody's of The Book of Mormon, Once, Matilda, Wicked, Miss Saigon and more.

It last ran at the Menier Chocolate Factory in 2009, and prior to that had a West End run in 1999. It originally opened on Broadway in 1982.

Casting is to be announced for the production.

Forbidden Broadway is produced by the Menier Chocolate Factory, John Freedson and Harriet Yellin.
