The leading panto company has experienced an 11% increase in ticket sales on this time last year
The ancient art of pantomime is more popular than ever this year, oh yes it is!
First Family Entertainment (FFE) and the Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) have announced record-breaking panto ticket sales for a single day.
FFE panto sales for Monday 18 November 2013 were reportedly the highest ever recorded in a single day, totalling £150,000.
This equates to a 25% increase on the corresponding day in 2012.
The single day figure of £150,000 now gives FFE a total sales tally of £7,704,143 for the 2013/2014 pantomime season so far, which in itself is an 11% increase on this time last year.
Kevin Wood, FFE’s chief executive, said: “We are delighted to report these record-breaking sales. It proves that pantomime is as popular as ever and heartening to see that families are still coming to see live theatre in an era that is so technology focussed."
FFE's ten pantos include Aladdin (Wimbledon) starring Jo Brand, Matthew Kelly, David Bedella and Oliver Thornton (read our interview), Snow White (Milton Keynes) starring Warwick Davis and Peter Pan (Liverpool) starring Ray Quinn.
Wood added: "We believe that the sales are a reflection of good casting, loyalty from our audiences having seen strong productions in previous years and our new flexible pricing approach."
