Game of Thrones actor Charlotte Hope is to join the cast of Sam Shepard's Buried Child at Trafalgar Studios.

Hope will make her West End debut as Shelly and joins the already announced Ed Harris, Jeremy Irvine and Amy Madigan in the run of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play. Other cast members announced today are Jack Fortune who will play Father Dewis, Barnaby Kay who will play Tilden and Gary Shelford who is Bradley.

The show, which transfers from New York, is directed by Scott Elliott and will open on 1 December. Buried Child is set in a recession-hit rural America in 1979, where farmers Dodge and Halie are struggling to keep their farm afloat. When their grandson Vince arrives with his girlfriend Shelly they don't recognise him, which plunges everything into confusion.

Harris is a frequent collaborator on Shepard's plays and in 1983 the playwright penned the role of Eddie in Fool For Love for him. It was announced this week that Fool For Love will run at Found111 in London from 26 October.
