Conor McPherson's musical play Girl from the North Country, with music from Bob Dylan, opened at the Old Vic last night.

Guests including Emma Rice, Ellie Bamber and Noma Dumezweni joined the cast, lead by Ciarán Hinds and Shirley Henderson, in celebrating the show's press night, kicking off its run at the venue until October.

The performance, written and directed by McPherson, infuses the story of a small-town Minnesota family in the midst of the Great Depression with an assortment of Dylan's songs.

Girl From the North Country runs at the Old Vic until 7 October.
