Following its premiere at this year's Edinburgh Fringe, actor/impressionist Luke Kempner is brining his solo show The Only Way is Downton to London's Trafalgar Studios next year, prior to a UK tour.

Running from 27 January to 22 February 2014, the show sees Kempner portray multiple characters from hit ITV series Downton Abbey, including Maggie Smith's Dowager Countess and Jim Carter's butler Carson.

According to press material, "As celebrities start appearing at the Abbey, cultures clash and eras hilariously collide in this brilliant new parody.

"Building on the multi-character original scenario of his YouTube video, Luke has created an original story in which the characters of Downton Abbey are in crisis and have to call upon modern celebrities in their appeal to save the Dowager’s country pile from certain closure."

Kempner's previous theatre credits include Sleeping Beauty for Salisbury Playhouse, the UK tour of South Pacific, LIFT and UK tours of Avenue Q and Les Miserables.

Directed by Owen Lewis, The Only Way is Downton is produced by James Seabright.
