Alan Menken's Tony Award-winning musical Newsies is to be streamed into cinemas nationwide for the first time.

Disney's musical starring Jeremy Jordan and composed by eight-time Oscar winner Menken, will be broadcast into cinemas on Sunday 19 February, tickets are on sale now.

The show, which has a book by Harvey Fierstein, was adapted from the 1992 film of the same name starring Christian Bale. It premiered on Broadway in 2012 and is set in New York City at the turn of the century. The story centres on Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy who leads a group of newsies in a rebellion against greedy publishers.

Newsies will be broadcast into cinemas nationwide on Sunday 19 February 2017.
