Rumour has it the new musical is looking for investors so the show can come to the West End and go on tour
Following the world premiere of Sleepless in Seattle: The Musical at the Pasadena Playhouse in California in June, the new musical could be set for a London opening and Broadway transfer.
According to Broadway World, the show has just launched a Crowd Funder campaign, appealing to fans and smaller investors to put some money into the plan to bring the musical to London's West End and to fund an international tour.
The plans, as laid out on their official Crowd Funder page, aim to raise enough funds to re-develop the musical in Spring 2015, before opening a production on the West End later in the year and touring the world.
The creators have written: "This is an equity arrangement and differs from other vehicles (i.e. Kickstarter) in that we are not requesting 'contributions'. We will leave the link active for a maximum of 60 days or until it has been fully subscribed."
Sleepless in Seattle is a 1993 rom-com starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, centring on a widower whose son persuades him to call a local radio station in order to find a new wife.
