Casting has been announced for the new rock musical 27, which will be co-directed by Arlene Phillips.

Ryan Molloy (Jersey Boys, Jerry Springer the Opera), Cassie Compton (American Psycho, Wicked), Greg Oliver (Spring Awakening) and Jack Donnelly (Atlantis, Misfits) will all star in the piece, which has been written by Sam Cassidy who also co-directs.

The rest of the cast includes Lucy Martin, Ryan Gibb, Jodie Jacobs, Maisie Bawden, Eloise Davies, Collette Guitart, Emily Kenwright, Sophie Ayers, Anthony Selwyn, Jason Kajdi, Kristian Cunningham.

27 follows a would-be rock legend Orpheus, who is on the same path of self-destruction taken by Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse and Janis Joplin, who all died at the age of 27.

27 runs at the Cockpit Theatre from 12 September to 22 October, with previews from 8 September.
