Casting announced for Birmingham Rep's Amédée

Casting has been announced for Birmingham Rep's Amédée which will be directed by Roxanna Silbert.

Adapted by Sean Foley, Amédée is Eugene Ionesco's 1954 play about a playwright who has been unable to finish a play for 15 years. Along with his wife, he is keeping a secret that becomes too big to hide any longer.

Josie Lawrence returns to the Rep after productions of The Cherry Orchard and Hapgood, and she will star alongside Trevor Fox (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time).

The cast also includes Jamie Samuel, Leah Walker and Duane Hannibal.

Amédée has design by Ti Green, lighting by Chahine Yavoryan and sound by Dyfan Jones.

Amédée runs at Birmingham Rep from 24 February to 11 March, with previews from 28 February.
