Cast announced for Herman's Grand Tour at Finborough

Thom Southerland’s production runs for an eight-week season from 1 January

Casting has been announced for next year's European premiere of Jerry Herman's 1979 Broadway musical The Grand Tour.

Running at the Finborough Theatre from 1 January to 21 February 2015, the cast will be headed by Alastair Brookshaw as Jacobowsky, Nic Kyle as The Colonel and Zoë Doano as Marianne.

The production comes from the WhatsOnStage Award-winning team behind the recently acclaimed revivals of Titanic, Parade, Mack & Mabel and Victor/Victoria, led by producer Danielle Tarento and director Thom Southerland.

Herman's 1979 musical is set in 1940 Paris, where a Polish Jewish intellectual teams up with an anti semitic Polish colonel to escape the approaching Nazis.

The rest of the cast are: Michael Cotton, Laurel Dougall, Elizabeth Graham, Natasha Karp, Vincent Pirillo , Blair Robertson, Samuel J Weir and Lizzie Wofford.

The Grand Tour is based Franz Werfel's play Jacobowsky and The Colonel and features a book by Michael Stewart (Bye Bye Birdie) and Mark Bramble (Barnum, 42nd Street).

The Finborough production features choreography by Cressida Carré, musical direction by Joanna Cichonska and set design by Philip Lindley.
