Carly Bawden replaces Rosalie Craig in wonder.land

More details of who will star in the London run of Damon Albarn’s musical have been announced

Carly Bawden will replace Rosalie Craig as Alice in the London run of wonder.land this November.

The actress is currently starring in McQueen at the Theatre Royal Haymarket and will star alongside a cast which includes Sam Archer, Lois Chimimba, Paul Hilton and Nadine Cox.

Damon Albarn wrote the music for wonder.land, which explores the boundaries between our online and offline lives, with a 21st century Aly at the piece's centre. She is is struggling with family, friends, school and teenage insecurities. It follows the Blur front-man's 2011 Doctor Dee which was also for the Manchester International Festival.

Moira Buffini, writer of hit show Handbagged, co-created the piece with Albarn and National Theatre boss Rufus Norris, who directs wonder.land.

The show received positive reviews when it premiered at the Manchester International Festival in July this year.

wonder.land runs at the National Theatre, Olivier from November 23 to February 26.
