The cancellation of Chimerica is due to a technical issue. A press statement reads:

“At today’s matinee of Chimerica at the Harold Pinter Theatre during Act Two there were some technical difficulties with the revolve and sadly the show had to be stopped. As a result tonight’s performance has had to be cancelled so all safety checks can be fully carried out before resuming performances tomorrow.

“Customers are being contacted now and will be offered exchanges or refunds.”

Meanwhile at the Donmar Warehouse, Nick Payne’s new play The Same Deep Water As Me has been cancelled since Saturday and will also be cancelled this evening, due to an injury to its lead actor Daniel Mays.

According to a statement from the Donmar:

“We have had to cancel a number of performances of the The Same Deep Water As Me, up to and including the evening performance on Wednesday 21 august. This is due to Daniel Mays being incapacitated by an injury. We are confident that Daniel will make a speedy recovery and we are monitoring his progress on a day to day basis.

“In the meantime we are rehearsing in another actor to cover the role and performances are due to recommence at 2:30pm on Thursday 22 august. All affected patrons will be contacted by the ATG box office and have the value of their tickets automatically refunded. We would like to thank our patrons for their patience and understanding.”
