Who’s ready for some dancing in the midnight sky?

Exclusive: A brand new staging of The Snowman will premiere this autumn.
The production is based on the picture book by Raymond Briggs and the film directed by Dianne Jackson and produced by John Coates, with music and libretto by Howard Blake.
The production was first staged in Birmingham in 1993 and has since toured the UK and been presented in London, with regular seasonal runs at the Peacock Theatre.
The new iteration will open at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre, where it will play from Tuesday 20 October to Sunday 1 November 2026, before transferring to the Peacock Theatre from Saturday 21 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027.
The story follows a boy whose snowman comes to life on Christmas Eve. They travel together through the night and meet Father Christmas and his reindeer.
Tuckett said today: “I am thrilled to be creating this new version of The Snowman, a story that has charmed and delighted so many for so long. I remember getting Raymond Briggs’ book from Father Christmas, then on Boxing Day a few years later, sitting with my family to watch the wonderful film.
“Howard Blake’s score runs through the veins of so many of us, and to have been given the responsibility of reimagining this story, to that music, for new generations is a privilege.”
The production is directed and choreographed by Will Tuckett, with design by Anna Fleischle, video design by Nina Dunn, illusions by Chris Fisher and puppet design by Daisy Beattie.
Priority booking opens from Friday 6 March, and public booking opens on Tuesday 10 March.
