Avenue Q will embark on a new UK tour in January.
The Tony Award-winning musical, which is created by Jeff Marx and Robert Lopez, tells the story of a bunch of loveable, foul-mouthed puppets living on a downtown New York Street.
The production first opened Off-Broadway in 2003, before transferring to Broadway where it picked up three Tony Awards. It opened in the West End in 2006, where it ran for five years. It features classic numbers including "The Internet is for Porn" and "Everyone’s A Little Bit Racist". The show previously toured in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
The production is directed and choreographed by Cressida Carré, designed by Richard Evans, with lighting design by Charlie Morgan Jones and sound design by Chris Bogg.
The UK tour opens at Kings Theatre Portsmouth on 21 January 2019, before running in Birmingham, Dartford, Basildon, Derby, Bradford, Canterbury Wirral, Cheltenham, Ipswich, Brighton, Wolverhampton, Cardiff, Glasgow and Sheffield. Further dates are to be announced.
