Looks like Amber’s gonna win the prize!

Legally Blonde has found its Elle Woods!
The much-loved musical, which follows a misjudged young woman who overcomes social expectations and becomes a successful Harvard Law School graduate, is heading out on a new tour next year.
With music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin, and a book by Heather Hach, the musical is based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer motion picture of the same name.
It was first seen on Broadway in 2007, with a West End production opening in 2010, where it won four WhatsOnStage Awards and three Olivier Awards. A hit revival subsequently began life at Curve in Leicester, before embarking on a tour. The show was last seen in the UK in a WhatsOnStage Award-winning revival at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in 2022.
Curve artistic director Nikolai Foster will direct the brand new production, produced by Curve and ROYO, who also collaborated on the tour of Kinky Boots set to arrive in the West End. Legally Blonde will open at the Leicester venue in 2026 and tour across the UK into 2027. Tour dates can be found here.
Revealed today, Amber Davies will lead the company as Elle.
She said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be playing the iconic role of Elle Woods in ROYO and Curve’s new production of Legally Blonde. As a huge fan of the film and the musical, this part is the role of a lifetime, and I am honoured to be stepping into Elle’s perfect heels.”
Adding: “I have always wanted to work with the incredible theatrical mind that is Nikolai Foster, and I am so excited to hit the road again and bring Laurence O’Keefe’s incredible score back to the UK! Get ready, Harvard… This is gonna be just like senior year except funner!”
Audiences are advised to note that Davies will not be performing at every performance on the tour, and to check the venue website for information.
The full cast and creative team are to be announced.
