A first clip has been released from the forthcoming cinema presentation of Othello, filmed during its West End run and set to be screened internationally next month.

The footage offers an early look at the stage production led by David Harewood in the title role alongside Toby Jones as Iago and Caitlin FitzGerald as Desdemona.

The production was captured live at the Theatre Royal Haymarket and will be released in cinemas internationally from 4 March 2026.

The film has been directed for the stage by Tom Morris, with design by Ti Green and music by PJ Harvey and Jon Nicholls. It has been filmed in association with Spiritland Productions and will be distributed in cinemas by Trafalgar Releasing in partnership with Chris Harper Productions.

The full company for the production also includes David Ahmad, Gethin Alderman, Ewan Black, Tom Byrne, Jonathan Cobb, Peter Guinness, Felix Hayes, Jasmin Hinds, Wela Mbusi, Jude Owusu, Tom Peters and Rose Riley.

The revival of Shakespeare’s tragedy was produced by Chris Harper Productions, Access Entertainment, Kevin and Kate McGrath with Catherine Schreiber, Michael Watt Productions, Carolyn Lawson, Laurence Myers and James Seabright.

The filmed production will be screened in cinemas across the UK, US, Australia and selected international territories from 4 March 2026, with tickets now on sale.
