Find out who will star in the first London production of the Fats Waller musical in 25 years
Casting has been announced for the upcoming production of Ain's Misbehavin', Tyrone Huntley's directorial debut.
The Fats Waller musical opens at Mercury Theatre, Colchester, in March and will star Adrian Hansel as André, Renée Lamb as Armelia, Carly Mercedes-Dyer as Charlaine, Landi Oshinowo as Nell and Wayne Robinson as Ken.
Joining Huntley and the previously announced Oti Mabuse on the creative team are designer Takis, lighting designer James Whiteside, sound designer Dan Samson and Mark Dickman with new orchestrations.
Ain't Misbehavin celebrates the jazz musician Fats Waller, stepping back into the 1920s, the nightclubs of Manhattan and the Harlem Renaissance. The piece originally premiered at Manhattan Theatre Club in 1978 and transferred to Broadway that year, winning the Tony Award for Best Musical. It opened in the West End in 1979, with subsequent runs at the Tricycle and the Lyric Theatre. This new production marks its first in London in 25 years.
The show runs at Mercury Colchester between 15 and 30 March before heading to Southwark Playhouse between 19 April and 1 June.
