Zoë Wanamaker and Zrinka Cvitešić are to star in a new play by Nancy Harris at the Bridge Theatre.

Nicholas Hytner will direct the run of Two Ladies between 14 September and 26 October, with opening night on 25 September.

Harris' piece follows Hélène (Wanamaker) and Sophia (Cvitešić) as the first ladies of France and America whose husbands clash about an international crisis.

Set and costume designs are by Anna Fleischle with lighting by Johanna Town and sound by George Dennis. Final casting for the show will be announced in due course.

Also announced to run at the Bridge will be Elliott and Harper productions' staging of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe which opened originally at Leeds Playhouse in 2017. The piece will run for 12 weeks over 2019/2020 and is based on the novel by CS Lewis.

Sally Cookson directs the show, which has design from Rae Smith, movement from Dan Canham, lighting from Bruno Poet, sound from Ian Dickinson and music by Benji Bower, with Adam Peck the writer in the room.

It was recently announced that Hytner's London Theatre Company will open a second theatre in King's Cross in 2021/22. The auditorium will be based on the Bridge Theatre.
