Sara Bareilles' Broadway hit musical, Waitress, has opened at the Adelphi Theatre in London's West End and we went along to the after party to chat with cast and guests.

The musical stars Katharine McPhee as Jenna, Jack McBrayer as Ogie, Marisha Wallace as Becky, Laura Baldwin as Dawn, Peter Hannah as Earl, David Hunter as Dr Pomatter and Shaun Prendergast as Old Joe.

The piece tells of Jenna, a pie waitress in a small town and stuck in a rocky marriage who pours her heart into her baking. A fresh start presents itself with the prospect of a baking contest in a nearby county.

The show is based on the 2007 film by Adrienne Shelly and features songs by Bareilles such as "She Used to be Mine" and "I Didn't Plan It" and a book by Jessie Nelson.

The show is directed by Diane Paulus, with choreography from Lorin Latarro, lighting from Ken Billington and designs from Scott Pask.
