Vanessa Redgrave's work-in-progress play Vienna 1934 – Munich 1938 will be performed at Rose Theatre Kingston in February.

Redgrave performs in the show, which focuses on her father Michael Redgrave's friend and poet Stephen Spender, who attempted to obtain false visas and passports for socialist Jews trying to leave Austria during the 1930s. The younger Redgrave discovered the story when going through her father's papers.

Redgrave is currently appearing in Matthew Lopez's The Inheritance in the West End, and appearing alongside her in Vienna 1934 – Munich 1938 will be two of her Inheritance co-stars – Robert Boulter and Paul Hilton, as well as Daisy Bevan (The Alienist).

Redgrave will also appear in a discussion with Roger Michel on 9 February at 7.30pm.

The piece will be performed three times between 7 and 9 February.
