Care workers offered free tickets to see James Fritz' The Fall at Southwark Playhouse

Care workers have been offered free tickets to see Bruntwood Prize-winner James Fritz's The Fall, which opens at Southwark Playhouse this week.
The National Youth Theatre production, which examines the nature of aging in the present day and the gulf between generations, will offer free tickets to carers who email info@nyt.org.uk to reserve their seating, with over 100 free tickets available. The initiative is supported by Southwark Carers and Carers UK, a charity supporting those caring unpaid for older or disabled people.
On 19 May, there will also be a Q&A session to discuss the themes of the play, with panellists including MP Neil Coyle and chief executive of Carers UK Heléna Herklots.
The scheme comes following a recent survey by NYT, which found that 80 per cent of respondents thought loneliness impacted older people the most. Furthermore, Of the 382 respondents aged 30 and under, 86 per cent were worried about being priced out of city living in the next ten years, while over a third thought they would never be able to afford their own home.
Earlier this year, the West End production of Brief Encounter offered nurses a chance to watch the show for free at the Empire cinema on Haymarket Street.
