Full casting has been announced for The Twits at Leicester's Curve theatre.

Robert Pickavance (Much Ado About Nothing) and Jo Mousley (Horrible Histories) will play Mr and Mrs Twit in Roald Dahl's children's classic.

The cast also includes Luke Johnson (The Light Princess) as Daddy Muggle-Wump, Liz Jadav (Stoneface) as Mummy Muggle-Wump, Charlotte Workman (Brief Encounter) as Girl Muggle-Wump and Alex Chang (Song Unsung) as Boy Muggle-Wump. The Roly-Poly Bird will be played by Jack Horner.

The Twits is about Mr and Mrs Twit – the nastiest, ugliest people in the world – who make their caged monkeys (the Muggle-Wumps) stand on their heads all day. But the Muggle-Wumps have had enough, and set out for revenge.

Directed by Max Webster, the production features new songs from composer Dougal Irvine and design by Georgia Lowe.

Following a short stint in Hong Kong in November, the production will open at the Curve on 14 December before moving to Rose Theatre Kingston in April 2017.

The Twits runs at Curve Theatre, Leicester from 14 December 2016 to 15 January 2017 before moving to Rose Theatre Kingston from 5 to 16 April 2017.
