Jemma Redgrave withdraws from Duet for One
The actress was due to star in the piece with Oliver Cotton
Jemma Redgrave has withdrawn from the upcoming tour of Duet for One.
The actress was due to star opposite Oliver Cotton in the piece, which was written by Tom Kempinski.
A note on the Malvern Theatres' website reads "Duet for One was scheduled to feature Jemma Redgrave who has unfortunately withdrawn due to ill health. The role of Stephanie Abrahams will now be played by Belinda Lang."
In a statement, Birmimgham Rep confirmed that due to the "indisposition of Jemma Redgrave" the role will be played by Lang.
In May it was announced that Redgrave would star opposite Cotton in the piece between 22 September and 7 October. The show tours to Cambridge, Richmond, King's Theatre in Edinburgh and Malvern Theatres.
The play is about a concert violinist who is forced to rethink her life when she is struck by a tragedy and begins to consult psychiatrist Dr Feldman.
Redgrave has previously starred as Eve Grander in Cold Blood, Bernie Wolfe in Holby City and Kate in Doctor Who.
Duet for One runs at Birmingham Rep from 22 September to 7 October and then tours.
