Producers of the WhatsOnStage Awards-nominated Dirty Rotten Scoundrels at the Savoy Theatre have confirmed the show will close there on 7 March, making way for the transfer of Gypsy starring Imelda Staunton.
Starting at Birmingham's New Alexandra Theatre on 5 May, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels will tour the UK with runs at the Manchester Opera House, Sunderland Empire and the King's Theatre in Glasgow, followed by international productions in Australia, Germany and South Korea.
According to press material, "London theatregoers have until 7 March to book tickets to see WhatsOnStage Awards Best Actor In A Musical nominee Robert Lindsay in this multi-award nominated production while the show is still in the West End."
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, which opened in February 2014, is based on the 1988 film starring Michael Caine and Steve Martin, directed by Frank Oz. It marks the UK premiere of Mitchell's new production, which has been "reconceived and reimagined" from its Broadway premiere.
Alongside Lindsay the cast includes Bonnie Langford as Muriel Eubanks, Ben Fox as Andre Thibault, Katherine Kingsley as Christine Colgate, and Alex Gaumond - who succeeded Rufus Hound - as Freddy Benson
The rest of the cast includes: Lizzy Connolly as Jolene, Gavin Alex, Darren Bennett, Niamh Bracken, Lisa Bridge, Darren Carnall, Andy Conaghan, Phoebe Coupe, Claire Doyle, Alice Fearn, Selina Hamilton, Ian Knauer, Lisa Mathieson, Zak Nemorin, Genevieve Nicole, Javier Santos, Todd Talbot, Dominic Tribuzio, Jon Tsouras and Zara Warren.
