Olivier Award-winning actress Harriet Walter will join the Olivier Award-winning director Marianne Elliott for the next Tonic Celebrates event, which takes place at Soho Theatre on 31 July.

The event, which will see the panel in conversation with Tonic Theatre director Lucy Kerbel, will also feature dramaturg Nina Steiger.

Elliott recently announced the first production for her newly formed company, Elliott & Harper Productions. Simon Stephens' Heisenberg: The Uncertainty Principle will open at Wyndham's Theatre on 3 October, starring Kenneth Cranham and Anne-Marie Duff. Elliott's credits as associate director at the National Theatre include Angels in America, Husbands and Sons and The Light Princess.

Walter's theatre credits include the Donmar's Shakespeare Trilogy, Boa (Trafalgar Studios), Death of a Salesman (RSC/West End), Arcadia (National Theatre) and Three Sisters (RSC), for which she won an Olivier Award.

Steiger is senior dramaturg at the National Theatre. She has previously been associate director at Soho Theatre and is a fellow of the Clore Leadership Programme.

Tonic Theatre is an organisation that supports the theatre industry to achieve greater gender equality in its workforces and repertoires. The latest Tonic Celebrates follows previous events with the likes of Emma Rice, Moira Buffini, Paule Constable and Indhu Rubasingham.
