Olivier and Tony Award-winning director Marianne Elliott will join Lucy Kerbel for the next Tonic Celebrates event.

Hosted by Tonic Theatre, an organisation that supports the theatre industry to achieve greater gender equality in its workforces and repertoires, the evening will feature a discussion on Elliott's career, work and successes, and takes place at Soho Theatre Upstairs on Monday 31 July.

The first half of the evening will be chaired by Kerbel, Tonic Theatre’s director, before the floor is opened to the audience for questions.

Elliott recently announced the first production for her newly formed company, Elliott & Harper Productions. Simon Stephens’ Heisenberg: The Uncertainty Principle will open at Wyndham’s Theatre on 3 October, starring Kenneth Cranham and Anne-Marie Duff.

Her credits as associate director at the National Theatre include Angels in America, Husbands and Sons, The Light Princess and Rules for Living. Her productions of War Horse and A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time enjoyed success in the West End, Broadway and on tour.

The latest Tonic Celebrates follows previous events with the likes of Emma Rice, Moira Buffini, Paule Constable and Indhu Rubasingham.

Tonic Celebrates Marianne Elliott takes place at Soho Theatre on Monday 31 July.
