Last week (14 June 2013) the company of Tony award-winning Once became the first West End musical cast to busk on the London Underground.

Celebrating the tenth anniversary of the licensed busking scheme, cast members including Declan Bennett spent two hours at Leicester Square Tube station performing songs from the show alongside some of the station's regular buskers.

Based on the 2007 film, John Tiffany's production of Once features songs by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, including the Oscar-winning "Falling Slowly".

Bennett said on Friday: "As a singer-songwriter who has done my fair share of busking in the past, it was especially exciting today to have spent time at Leicester Square Tube with my fellow Once cast mates".

Once is currently booking at the Phoenix Theatre until 31 May 2014.
